MOSES LAKE SCHOOL DISTRICT’S MARK AGRELLAS RECEIVES
PRESTIGIOUS BEST PRACTICES AWARD

Moses Lake, WA – The Moses Lake School District is proud to announce that Mark Agrellas, Ed.S., MA, has been recognized as the 2024 recipient of the Best Practices Award in Intervention by the Washington State Association of School Psychologists (WSASP).

Agrellas' exceptional contributions to the field of school psychology and dedication to student success earned him this distinguished honor. Skills highlighted in his nomination included his expertise in culturally responsive assessment techniques, his ability to design individualized interventions, and his unwavering commitment to supporting students.

Agrellas' colleagues praise his proactive and innovative approach. He frequently speaks at staff and MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) meetings, offering practical strategies to enhance student outcomes. Agrellas also volunteers to run Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) groups, ensuring that every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive in the classroom.

When a need arises, Agrellas is quick to step in—even when resources are limited. One colleague shared how Agrellas' direct support made a significant difference for students when the team faced challenges in delivering individual interventions. His willingness to provide personalized, hands-on assistance reflects his dedication to fostering positive outcomes for every student.

“Mark is such an important part of our special services team, and we’re proud of him for receiving this award. His colleagues, who nominated him, see firsthand how hard he works to support our schools, families, and most importantly, our students,” said Samantha Burgess, director of special services. “Mark’s dedication and ability to help everyone progress are truly inspiring, and this recognition is so well deserved.”

Please join us in celebrating Mark Agrellas for this remarkable achievement and his continued impact on the lives of students and families in our community.
